On Friday of last week a young boy around nine years old was attacked by a coyote. The coyote attacked the boy from behind while he was snowboarding on a golf course. The boy swatted the animal on the head a few times; the coyote then released and ran away. The boy is now ok thankfully. In my eyes at nine years old I have no clue what I would have done to try and save myself. Truthfully I don’t think that I would have been as brave as this nine year old boy. My brother just turned ten in September, but even now I don’t think he would have been as brave as this other boy who was attacked. I think that he would have screamed bloody murder until someone came and saved him. About three or four years ago my father and I had gotten back on a Sunday afternoon form a long days work. We unloaded the truck and put a basket of bags into the house when a snake slithered out and into the hallway where my sister saw it and ran to tell my mother and father. They went back into the hallway and saw it slither under the office door and behind one of the cabinets. My dad instantly put out sticky pads and traps to try and catch the snake. After that about an hour or two later the whole family was upstairs getting ready for bed. While in bed my little brother normally reads to my mom or dad but forgot his book down stairs in the office. He quickly booked it down the stairs and then creped slowly into the office and peeked behind the cabinet that the snake crawled behind and then let out a blood curdling scream. I had never heard anything like that in my life. I instantly jumped out of bed and ran down stairs; meanwhile my parents and sister were doing the same thing. Once we were all down there we saw my little brother running out of the office, with a look of just have seen a ghost on his face. My mother, father, sister and I all looked at one another and busted out with laughter. As you can see my little brother is a wimp but I still love him. In conclusion I can say what I think but I would never know how one of us would take the situation into our hands and make an outcome.

Early Sunday morning around 12:45 am a police Sgt. rolled his car on Quebec Parkway. The police believed there had been alcohol involved with the car crash. The police handed over the investigation to the Colorado State Patrol because of his position within the police department. I think that it was wrong to hand it over to another organization just because of his position. But they will sit on corners of hills waiting to rob someone coming down the hill a little faster than the speed limit. I also think it is just wrong for a COP to drink and drive period. Cops are not above the law just because they can sit on corners waiting for people to come down a hill a little fast and then pull them over and make them pay a ticket. They are also not above the law just because they can bust people for wrong doing and put them in jail. Everyone has to obey the United States laws no matter who you are, if you are the President or if you are a homeless man you need to follow the laws of our country. So many little boys and girls look up to cops and want to be one when they grow up. I still know kids that want to be cops and will probably fulfill that dream. So the cops of America need to step it up and be good influences on the kids of the United States.

While I was looking through Denver’s local news I scrolled over an article that said someone stole many useful items out of a police patrol car. There was a .40 Glock handgun, body armor, three loaded magazines, the officer’s badge, hand cuffs, a collapsible baton and some pepper spray. The first thing that went through my mind was how and why. Who would go and check if a police car was unlocked and what if it wasn’t, would this man still try and get in? Another thing I would like to know is what the police are doing to find this man and do they even care that this was stolen. Also, what does this man plan to do with all of these police items? Does he plan to save it for hard times when they come or is he going to try and change the world? What do you think is going through this man’s mind?

In the next few days Colorado is due for around 5 to 10 inches of snow and about 35mph winds in our area. Personally snow is my favorite for many different reasons. To start with there are so many more thing that snow makes better or that there is so many more things that you can do in snow that you can’t when there is no snow. Such as you can go sledding or tubing with friends or family. Next you can go snowboarding or skiing in the beautiful Colorado, snow caped Rocky Mountains. Also the snow glistens and gleams when the sun shines down upon the snow. Last, there’s nothing the snow makes better than a warm cup of hot chocolate around a warm fire and family and friends. To me nothing can get better then the winter.

The Bad Boys
While looking through the Denver post news something caught my eye that read “the Two Tall Bandits.” In this article it described these two tall bad guys; there crime was that they had robbed nine banks in the last three months. They usually give the teller a threatening note and then get the money and leave on foot, possibly with a car nearby. The FBI say they are doing what they can but I want to know what really goes on inside. I wonder if they’re letting them get off and not really trying hard to catch them or working on this case all they can or if they are just waiting for some information on the two tall bandits or another bank robbery. They last thing I want to know is how does the police department deport 6000 illegal immigrants in twelve months but the FBI can’t catch two men that have robbed nine banks over the past three months.

As I was reading an article on Global Voices about how the Chinese want to take away the Taiwanese freedom. Many of the Taiwan people dislike this and are fighting back but the police take this to another level and use acts of violence on the protesters. I think this is just plain cruel and unnecessary. I had watched a YouTube video, there was no name on the video but it, showed the police beating, pushing, hitting, grabbing, pulling, and also taking away the right of the people and many other things that should not be done to any person of this world. Although the police weren’t the only people using violence, the protesters would also attack journalists from CCTV China. I believe that this is a situation that will not work itself out it will be a situation that someone will have to step in a break up themselves.

How Guilty Would You Feel?
A global news article reviled that a father trying to protect his wife and daughter accidently shot his baby girl. As the man’s wife and daughter just got home and started to walk to the house a car pulled up with a man inside telling the ladies to get in, the man in the car had a gun as well. The girls started to yell for help the father heard, grabbed his licensed gun and hurried towards the door. As the father came out of the house he slipped causing the gun to fire the bullets hit his daughter in the abdomen and died in the hospital. I feel very bad and sorry for this man I can’t even imagine how bad or how he feels about what had just happened. I can see that he blames himself and puts all of the guilt upon himself. It also states that the family is helping out about the cause by being there for the family. I can’t help but to wonder why this came about did god mean for this or was it just bad timing, if the father had never slipped what would the outcome be, would any one die or get hurt, but that is something that can never be reviled.

A global news article described the reasons of three bombs going off in Narathiwat, Bangkok. To start off the first bomb went off in a in or by one a car owned by one of the local officials, once the village chief and local officials had got out of their meetings and progressed towards their cars. The next two bombs went off near one of the local fruit markets. Both of these bombs went off as they targets were cited these bombs were either a bad attempt of trying to kill the village chief and the local officials or this man was trying to make a statement. No one will know until this man or woman is caught.

Illegal Immigrants in Colorado
Illegal immigrants in Colorado
In the Denver post news there was an article about illegal immigrants in Colorado and Wyoming. In the article it states that the Denver police department had deported 6000 illegal immigrants in Colorado and Wyoming over the last twelve months. They also say this was a 7 percent decrease of immigrants that they deported. I think they are trying to do what they can get rid of the illegal immigrant factor but we can try as hard as we want but we will never get anywhere if we don’t do anything about it at the border. I want to know where they had brought these aliens and if they are making an effort to keep them out of the country or if they will just come back into America again. America‘s government needs to make a statement and show the illegal immigrants what they are doing is wrong and that they should not and cannot any more. Then possible the immigrants will think twice about coming into America illegal.

Some High School Fun
A 17 year old boy was arrested for streaking across a football field in Boulder at one of Boulder High’s football games. He ran down the field with nothing on but his shoes and he also carried a fake sward with him while running. Personally I think this is hilarious, what’s better than watching a guy run down a football field getting chased by the cops. I say give the kid a break let him off with nothing but a warning. Let me ask you this, who is it going to hurt watching a guy run down a field naked? No person in the stands would be able to see anything on the streakier 50 yards away. So what do you say give the kid a break or convict him of sexual assault?

A Del-Taco Surprise
While a couple was sitting down to eat they found a surprise topping they did not order. As the couple started to eat their tacos they found a bag of marijuana inside. The couple called the cops and the chef Dennis Klermund was arrested for possession of the drug. I find this very stupid in every way possible. First of all why do drugs, all that is happening is you are throwing your life away, it’s illegal and not healthy. Next, how ignorant do you have to be to put it in a customer’s food when you have a whole locker full of the drug. Maybe next time Dennis will be smarter and take better care of his marijuana.

The Machines are using us
- Ø You can do anything with digital text
- Ø It is unliner on paper
- Ø Are we teaching the machine or is the machine teaching us
- Ø Every time we click the mouse the machine learns
- Ø Who is the machine
In the video "The Machines are Using Us" by Michael Wesch, I thought the video was very interesting and had many fascinating facts. In the begining of the video he starts to type on a word document page and demonstrates how you can do anything with digital text. He links pages to the paper, he puts hyperlinks onto the page, and moves stuff around with the touch of a button. He also says that paper is unliner and you can’t do whatever you want with it. Last, he is going through the web and changing things as he pleases, he is also looking at a website that talks about how we are teaching the machine. As he is scrolling down the page he stops and zooms in on a sentence that talks about how many links are clicked on per day by the user. It also states that every time a page is clicked on and opens the machine learns. Last, he states that we are teaching the machine we are the machine.
